Rare set of original hand-coloured engravings from 1874. The steel-plate engravings were done by William Forrest after artwork by John Skinner Prout for “Australia Illustrated”.
The 5 illustrations are:
"The Upper Goulburn, Victoria"
“The Cow Pastures, New South Wales”
“Cockatoo Islan
“The Punt, Echuca”
“New Zealand Gully near Roehampton, Queensland” (Now Rockhampton)
There is a bit of foxing on the paper due to age, and a small tear in the title portion of “The Cow Pastures”. Overall really good condition and framed beautifully in black frames with gold gilt & red accents with a thick matte.
Overall dimensions: approx. 11-1/4 x 8-3/4 inches
