This is an unusual piece. It is antique, but I believe a reproduction or study of Joseph Farquharson's "The Joyless Winter Day" painting, originally created in 1883. The artwork is signed J. CLARK but I am not sure of the artist or the age of the piece. The canvas looks pretty old to me, with an open irregular weave and greyish brown coloring on the back. Flat head metal nails fix the canvas to the wood on the sides and back. A faint stamped "18- -12" can be seen on the side, indicating the size of the piece. Approx. 18x12”
