Vintage black maternity / plus-sized swimsuit made by Jantzen in Australia. It is a size 40, referring to the bust. The swimsuit has adjustable straps with hooks that can be removed from the back to have the straps tucked in for strapless if desired. The bra has wire structured boning in the cups. The front has a modesty panel/ skirting across the front crotch area and the back is full coverage. The inside has a separate support panel for the tummy. The classic red Jantzen diver logo is on the bottom front and the material is a structured, lightly ribbed rayon.
So rare to find authentic vintage swimwear in this size!
Overall good, vintage condition. Some stretching / bunching of the front fabric when not stretched. Zipper sticks a bit in one spot but still works well!
Sizing:
With vintage items, because sizes back then varied and dont always translate to modern sizing, flat lay measurements are whats given. This means I lay the garment on a table, and measure straight across the bust, waist and hips. You then double the measurements to give you the circumference or actual measurements as would fit on a person!
Because this swimsuit is stretchy, the 1st measurements given are going to be the smallest size, the 2nd is the stretched measurement.
Swimsuit laying flat in inches:
Bust: 16-20 inches across - or 31 to 40 inch circumference
Waist: 15-20 inch across with the swimsuit laying front up or 30-40 inch circumference
Waist: 19-23 inches across with the swimsuit turned on its side or 38-46 inches circumference
Hips: 17-26 inches across or 34-52 inch circumference
Total length of the body not including the straps: 26 inches
