Fantastic antique Bakelite pendant. When ran under warm water, this gave off a very distinct formaldehyde smell which is indicative of true Bakelite (Although the very bottom buoy-shaped black piece may be a different material given the feel).
The piece is old, but appears to have been re-strung with a more modern and sturdy jewelry wire.
Would be so lovely as either a necklace pendant or broach pin.
